About

Knowledge In Our Tunnel of Art (K.I.O.T.A) is a Community-Based Organization (CBO) located in the Changamwe sub-county of Mombasa County, on the coast of Kenya. Established in March 2018, K.I.O.T.A operates under the Ministry of Youth, Gender, Sports, and Culture. As an organization, we developed a tool called THEATRE to effectively engage and mobilize the community. Through this platform, we perform both live and recorded art forms, including;

  • Singing

  • Dancing

  • Comedy

Our thematic area of focus include:

Health

K.I.O.T.A promotes health awareness through various programs, aiming to educate and empower the community to lead healthier lives.

Human Rights and Democracy

We advocate for human rights and democracy, educating the community on their rights and the importance of democratic participation.

Climate Change

K.I.O.T.A raises awareness on climate change, promoting sustainable practices and educating the community on environmental conservation.

Art

We use art as a tool for expression and education, creating powerful visual and performing arts to engage and inspire the community.

Main Objective

To create positive awareness among all youth, women, the elderly, religious leaders, the disabled and other stakeholders.
